Sodium & Athletic Performance
Why Sodium?
Sodium isn't just a seasoning — it's a critical electrolyte that powers how athletes train, compete, and recover.
What Sodium Does
Essential Functions For Your Body
-
Fluid Balance
Regulates water retention and distribution across cells — keeping you hydrated during intense activity.
-
Muscle Function
Every contraction — from a sprint to a heavy lift — depends on sodium to transmit nerve-to-muscle signals.
-
Blood Volume
Maintains the blood volume needed to deliver oxygen and nutrients to working muscles at peak efficiency.
-
Nutrient Absorption
Actively transports glucose and amino acids across the gut wall — accelerating energy and protein uptake.
Sweat Science
Athletes Lose More
Sodium Than Most
During exercise, sweat carries significant sodium. Failing to replace it leads to performance-robbing consequences.
Why This Matters
For Athletes
- Maintain hydration during prolonged training
- Support strong, coordinated muscle contractions
- Speed up recovery between sessions
- Keep energy levels stable from start to finish
Pair this product with adequate water intake around workouts. Sodium helps your body hold onto the fluids you drink — making every sip count.

Even mild dehydration can have a noticeable effect on performance. Losing as little as 1–2% of body weight through sweat can reduce concentration, reaction time, memory, and decision-making. For athletes, this can show up as slower reads, missed assignments, unforced turnovers, poor shooting, or feeling mentally drained late in games and practices. Staying hydrated helps support both physical output and mental sharpness when the game gets tough.
Athletes lose more than just water when they sweat. Sodium, potassium, magnesium, and other electrolytes are lost during exercise and need to be replaced to support hydration, muscle function, endurance, and recovery. Many athletes can lose between 500–1500 mg of sodium per hour depending on sweat rate, intensity, and heat. Without enough electrolytes, cramping, fatigue, sluggishness, and reduced performance can become more common.
RITHM was built to support more than hydration alone. Ingredients like taurine, tyrosine, and L-theanine were included to help support focus, mental clarity, and composure under pressure. As fatigue sets in, athletes often struggle with slower decisions, poor concentration, and mental mistakes. By combining electrolytes with nootropic ingredients, RITHM is designed to help athletes stay sharp from pre-game through the final whistle.
